We have just come back from Portugal, where we saw the first GRAYAMZ sample come together.
Until now the Mk1 has lived in sketches, spec sheets, and 3D renders. Standing on the factory floor and watching it built in front of us is its own thing.
We picked Portugal for the shoemaking history. We picked this factory for what they put out. Both decisions held up.
There is a quiet vulnerability in seeing a first sample. We have spent months getting the design right on paper, and the factory floor is where you find out whether it translates.
We tried them on. We danced in them. Our first thoughts are good, and there is a small list of things we want to refine before the next round.
We aren't there yet. But we are closer than we have been.
